Karen has been a psychotherapist for over 25 years. Originally, she only utilized traditional talk therapy as a way to help her clients. About 15 years ago she began to integrate various forms of movement, body work and energy work into her sessions with clients. Karen is a Master’s Level Licensed Clinical Social Worker and formerly a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor. She is Nationally Certified Massage Therapist and Certified in CranialSacral Techniques through the Upledger Institute. She is a Kripalu Certified Yoga Teacher and continues her studies in yoga anatomy, yoga therapy and the use of Yoga Philosophy in treating anxiety, depression, trauma and addictions. She is also a Reiki Master and Certified Personal Trainer.
Karen’s background in both mind and body therapies allows her to listen to clients at a very deep and intuitive level. She creates individualized approaches for helping clients release both emotional and physical tensions so that they can experience more freedom and balance in both mind and body. Karen enjoys working with clients on specific “issues in the tissues’ that have not been resolved with other styles of therapy.
